Yeah, I JUST saw that one too.  Seems like a total blind-side to Moss.
I’m sure SOMEONE will pick him up, but who knows…

Dudes...  This shit is fucked up.  I mean, yeah, he sort of threw the Vikings under the bus in his post game, but that is not a cuttable offense.  And much like a few weeks ago in NE, they didn't throw the ball to him, but one wild borderline catchable throw.

What is he doing in the locker room to piss everyone off so bad?  The pats are smart enough to keep their mouth closed, but the Vikings certainly aren't, so something will come of this.  Something fucked best be happening for 2 teams in 3 weeks to suddenly dump one of the best offensive weapons out there...

Well whatever, thanks for the 3rd rounder.  So:  Where does he go?

Moss did something, him playing for Brad Childress is like having a boss that you are 10 times smarter than. Favre has problems with him too.

So how far does he trickle through the league before someone picks him up?
What team has a decent QB and the salary room to sign him, but also has no deep-threat receivers and a terrible record?

My guess: He is going to either the titans or dolphins.

Yeah, after saluting the organization that traded you rather than pay you - I'm pretty sure shit's fucked up in the Min lockerroom. I really doubt it's Moss though - I'd be willing to bet he got there - looked around and was none to pleased to see how that organization ran.

Patriots - he doesn't get contract extenion, reportedly gets into fight w/ Head Coach and Franchise Player. They say nothing and trade him.

Vikings - give him extension. don't throw him ball. he applogizes to former team. Vikings cut him.

Well played. San Diego is in awe of your ability to fuck up player personel decisions.

Those are good guesses. Maybe Washington, Seattle, Atlanta, St. Louis. Any marginal playoff contender who needs help. I don't see any way he makes it back to NE, who have last waiver priority because of best record. Jets might put in a claim to block NE.

Moss is maybe the #2 WR all-time, but is the ultimate frontrunner, who can't exist in bad situations without making them worse - like in Oakland. Buyer beware. The team and coaching have to be able to 'deal with it'.

Yup, NFL waiver wire runs in reverse order of standings - so any team at the top half of the pecking order could be a landing spot. He's mostly free at this point, a couple of million for the rest of the season...and then he's a free agent.  The Titan's are an interesting choice, they don't actually need another receiver and they love to run the ball w/ Cop Speed and Ringer. Miami would be another 'interesting' spot because Moss might be an excellent addition but it would be interesting to see if he welcomed the role of opening up the front seven for Brown/Williams/Bess - the Miami incarnation of the Wildcat doesn't utilize a deep threat and requires a lot of blocking from both WR positions at the second and third level to be successful.

I'll disagree with Jeff on one - Washington. They're a train wreck right now and their D performance last week (2 fantasy points) was particularly agregious for anyone who, ahem, may have droped the Packers Defense facing NYJ (18 fantasy points) to pick up Washington. But really, without a solid offensive leader I think that's a horrible situation. McNabb being benched, the RB platoon, and having a handful of other WR none of whom would really draw the coverage away from R. Moss leaving him open down field. Although McNabb certainly showed last season he can air it out, the true production came from the trio of Celek/DeSean/Maclin running short/medium routes and picking up tremendous yac yards.

Seattle would be funny Moss to Vikes - Branch to Pats - Moss to Hawks...mebbe Cin can cut Housh and he can sign w/ the Vikes.

Atlanta and Seattle would be excellent landing spots but again, they both sort of have a guy in that split end role and they really need a flanker - although lining up Aroma or Roddy opposite Moss would certainly be a boon for their numbers. Really Atlanta would be the best spot, excellent RB and change of pace back (Turner/Snelling) top flight receiver (White) and a TE who could be more productive if he was getting more mismatches in coverage (Gonzalez). The same could be said for Houston (Foster, Johnson, Daniels), but they have a talented pair of WR in Jacoby Jones and Kevin Walter.

Why not Tampa Bay? Freeman can throw the deep ball, Mike Williams can be productive at flanker, and they have enough running depth/talent. Plus Winslow would benefit from opposition having to key Moss off the line or bring a safety over the top either of which would open the slot/seam for him and leave him covered primarily by a OLB (either that or teams would have to play nickle a bunch a leave their front a man down).

end espntheocho.com rant.

Good call on TN, Mac and JW.  Makes sense to me.  TN is a team that I don't want to see the Patriots meet in the playoffs, even without Moss.  Chris Johnson, aka "Cop Speed" is awesome and Kenny Britt is playing well.  Good blocking.  The defense is solid.  Their weakness, QB.

I am surprised they were the only team to place a claim.  Now Moss can be pissed at Vince Young for throwing the ball late, or to 15 foot tall invisible receivers.  But Jeff Fischer is a good coach and will kick anyone's ass that steps out of line.  I think he has the most tenure of any current coach in the NFL.  He played for Ditka and the Bears in the 1980's.

I'll go out on a limb and say they have better food in Tennessee.
